Udaipur Murder

Sensational Udaipur Murder  The ruthless murder in broad day light in Udaipur is a very serious, inhuman, despicable and dastardly act of cruelty.  The more it is condemned, the less it is. There is no place for such murderers in a civilized society. They are terrorist and their heinous act tells alot about their expression of animalistic frenzy. A criminal is only a criminal. Our constitution and law and order system have all the provisions to deal with the culprits. There is also no place for jungle raj for those who spread hate and incite animosity among people. I communicate with history when I take you in flashback because you neither listen to nor trust the truth that exists in the present.  So do verify yourself the results of the present with the truth of the flashback and see how the truth of ills of the past create a yield for the present. How such an atmosphere of hate and animosity was created is a matter of great concern! Let's go into the flashback itself. W...

Agniveer -- Exploiting The Poor And Helpless Rural Youth

Exploiting The Poor And Helpless Rural Youth Agnipath is a major defence policy reform of the government for recruitment of soldiers, sailors and airmen into the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. The soldiers recruited thus under the scheme on a short-term contractual basis will be called Agniveers. The scheme will help cut the rising salary and pension bill of the armed forces as 75% of the jawans shown the doors after 4 years will not be entitled for post retirement benefits like pension and medical facilities.  We all must stand for applying the same service norms for all  — from block level to municipality to state MLA-MLC and to MPs. They should be allowed to remain in office after a year of  their performance. Those eliminated should not be entitled for any post retirement benefits. We must raise our nationwide demand for implementation. The point is that RSS, BJP and Modi have lost their credibility. They lie a lot, and Modi in particular. There is a severe trust de...

Anyone There in Opposition Who Can Match Up Modi...

Anyone There in Opposition Who Can Match Up Modi...... 🤔 The year 2024 is not too far away. In any democracy, a healthy and alternate option is always welcome. Does India boast of any such option today? At the national level, all opposition political parties have failed the nation in this regard with Congress being the biggest culprit.  Given the current political environment in the country, it may be prudent to rule out any one party and its leader dethroning the BJP and Modi in 2024. That is a harsh reality and the opposition knows it. Put your hand on your chest and answer with honesty -- is there any likelihood of a combined opposition achieving this seemingly impossible task? Is there a leader of substance in opposition ranks who can match up to Modi? The Modi government has made lying an art form. But why do people accept it all so willingly? Why do the people who faced lie after another and everyday go and vote for the same BJP? There are many obvious answers to this questi...

RBI's Increase in Repo Rate to Counter Inflation Pressure

RBI Will Keep Raising The Repo Rate To Counter Inflation Pressure  Repo rate is the rate at which banks borrow funds from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The cost of funds for banks goes up when the repo rate is increased. The cost of borrowing for retail and other borrowers goes up after the repo rate is hiked by the RBI. The RBI on 8th June raised its main policy rate or the Repo Rate — the rate at which it lends money to commercial banks — for the second time in over a month by an expected 50 basis points (bps) in its bid to tame runaway inflation. It is estimated by The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the RBI that inflation rate will average 7.5% in the current April-June quarter. It has projected inflation to remain above its upper tolerance band of 6% through the first three quarters of FY22 (April-December 2022). As per RBI a large part of the rise in inflation is primarily due to a series of supply shocks caused by the Ukraine-Russia war.  RBI is optimistic of gett...

India Lives In A Difficult Neighborhood

India Lives In A Difficult Neighborhood India is confronting a difficult neighbourhood when Pakistan and China have strengthened their cooperation. The Russia-Ukraine conflict and involvement of US-Russia in Ukraine is most likely to give free reins to China for growing into exercising unrestricted authority. The US and China relationship is already stressful. But currently the US and Russia are focused on Ukraine. For them now India is not a priority.  Modi's foreign policy has failed to rally the neighbouring countries behind to frustrate the possible and uninterrupted expansionist hunger of China to take possible advantage on India to raise new border issues especially when two superpowers the US and Russia are engaged in war. Pakistan and China have strengthened their cooperation. New challenges are emerging from the security vacuum Washington left behind in Afghanistan. Other fires to put out include a rapidly drifting Indo-Russian relationship and the military coup in ...

Why Our Forex Reserves Declined?

In September 2021 the Indian Forex reserve was at a record high of $642.45 billion. Now by 29th April this year, it has declined to $ 597.72 billion i.e, by $ 44.73 billion as per the data released by RBI. The decline in Forex reserves is due to decline in foreign currency assets (FCAs) which includes not only US $ but also non-US units like the euro, pound and yen.  There has been a massive capital outflow of $ 21.43 billion by foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) since September last year and $ 6.56 billion alone in March this year. The US Federal Reserve started tightening monetary policy and interest rate hikes. The borrowing rate has been zero since 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic. The US is the world’s biggest economy and the Fed the biggest central bank, and its decisions impact market behaviour around the world. The Fed raised the borrowing cost after 2018 which badly affected the FPIs to pursue their business in India after paying increased cost on borrowing. Hence the FPIs pu...
