Probing The Excitement in India Over a British PM of Indian Origin There is great excitement in India over Rishi Sunak of Indian origin becoming the new British PM. It is also seen as one, the defeat of British colonialism and two, that history has been awarded with justice.  But why are Indians so excited? Is it because Rishi Sunak is the new British PM of Indian Origin? Or the British democracy is so matured that any British citizen can become the PM there irrespective of their family connections, origin, country, race and religion. My question is, are the people of India overwhelmed with joy due to the new British PM Rishi Sunak is of Indian Origin and thereby celebrating the merits and attributes of a matured British democracy?
