IS OUR GOVERNMENT REALLY CONCERNED ABOUT OUR WELFARE

I attended out of curiosity many majmas  selling taviz - selling false hopes, false dreams, illusions and lies selling through taviz to gullible gathering with their eloquent theatrics - yes only by talking. I saw people -- young and old getting drawn to such majmas holding currency notes in their hands to buy a taviz that would end their problems. I used to be a part of the crowd to see how gullible the people can be! I was never given a taviz on any occasion as I happened to ask the taviz sellers disturbing questions to reason with me. Their own men already planted in the crowd would either politely ask or sometimes even threatened me to leave the place. You have guessed me right as to where I intend to arrive. Our politicians are taviz sellers - eloquent as well as stupid to give us unconvincing lies, diverting us from the main issues and agenda for people's welfare thinking that we all are fools.  They are getting support from their mesmerized voters for taking so cal...

KOLKATA HIGH COURT JUDGMENT FOR MAMATA

Why two communities cannot celebrate their respective festival together if the festivals of both the communities fall on the same occasion? Kolkata High Court sternly posed this very pertinent question to Mamata Banerjee, the CM of West Bengal and thereby ordered her government to reverse the decision of postponing the day of immersion of Durga Idols. Very true that it is the duty of the state government to ensure and maintain law and order to create an atmosphere of cordiality rather than drawing a line of divide between communities. Mumata should have called a meeting with the leaders and organizers of processions of two communities and the state administrative officers to rather draw out respective routes for the Tajiya and Durga processions to the best satisfaction of two communities. Here Mamata was going to do a great mistake of a seeming display of appeasement to a particular community, which any self respective citizen in democracy will find it unconstitutional and discrimin...

CHALLENGES BEFORE INDIA'S POWER SECTOR

Electricity sector of any country is an important sector to help boost its economy and works as catalyst to her developmental efforts. Similarly the role of electricity sector is vital in the development of India’s infrastructure wherein all emphasis is on Make in India and ease of doing business to boost industries and business enterprises. Undoubtedly, power sector is fraught with multiple challenges and risks. According to Mckinsey & Company rapid economic growth has increased the burden on India’s infrastructure. India's electricity consumption is likely to touch from 1.1 trillion to 4 trillion units by 2030 -- four times increase in consumption. Despite massive roll-out of energy efficient schemes, we still see a possible 10 per cent jump in the electricity growth annually for the next 15 or 16 years, The fresh demand for power will come from the 230 to 300 million people who will get electricity for the first time and subsequent elimination of diesel generation sets b...

HARYANA CARNAGE : TIME FOR ACCOUNTABILITY & TO FIX THE GUILTY

People in general and the bhagats of any political party and Dera in particular must realise by now as to how much damage could be caused to the country in particular and the people in general due to their nexus with the criminals like Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh of Dera Sacha Sauda. Such criminals are the partners of the political leaders for whom politics is nothing more than a business. Even the court also expressed her anguish by saying that the state govt allowed to torch the state and keep burning to serve their nefarious political end. I want the people see as to how the state has been giving VIP treatment to a rapist as ever even after declared guilty. I want the people must see as to how the guilty ministers, the political leaders as open supporters of a criminal gang are now hiding their faces to come out and face the public and the media. Modi has been touring on a helicopter with Nitish on his side to survey the flood hit Bihar and announce a relief package with seat sharing i...

VIOLENCE IN SUPPORT OF A RAPIST

There has been a complete failure of Govt of Haryana, Punjab and thereby the state and central administrative machinery  to handle the pent up  situation. This is bound to happen when a criminal like Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh of Dera Sacha Sauda is patronised by political parties - BJP and Congress both to get the support of the vote bank of devotees in the elections of Haryana and Punjab. The leaders of BJP and Congress are seen giving regular attendance to Dera. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was given Z category security. Why? Who is he? Haryana  Education  Minister Ram Bilas Sharma made no secret of his proximity to Dera head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. Recently Sharma visited him at the Dera headquarters in Sirsa and handed over a cheque of Rs 51 lakh as a mark of his support. Last Thursday he said that Dera Sacha Sauda followers were “simple, peace loving people” who may have gathered in Panchkula in huge numbers “ out of devotion for their guru and he did not smell vio...

Demonetization - Mindless Economic Intervention of the Govt

In a 90% cash reliant country 86% cash in circulation became trash overnight after declaration of demonetization by the govt. Almost nine months have gone by after demonetization. Mr Modi is still not ready to accept that it was a mindless economic intervention of the govt's objective to strike on corruption. Today the prevalence of corruption is still as it is as it was in relation to cash, hawala transfers and fundings especially when the govt intends to take us towards digital economy. Banks were estimated to have received 14.97 trillion rupees (around $220 billion) by the December 30 deadline, or 97% of the 15.4 trillion rupees’ worth of currency demonetized. There is little doubt that most of the invalidated currency was returned. The way the currency has come back to the banks has proved wrong that a huge quantity of unaccounted wealth may not make their way back into the banks. This way black marketers would lose their money as they would not be able to exchange their un...
IS COMMON MAN REALLY GAINING OUT OF THE ECONOMY???? It is time to evaluate as to how our economy is working and see whether common man in particular and the nation in general benefited. Is common man really gaining out of the economy? Soon all fuels - LPG gas and kerosene will be sold at market rates. Rs 87/- LPG subsidy gap will be bridged. That means customer will pay full price, ie, double of what they used to pay before subsidy began to be phased out in two years ago. So no respite from price rise and inflation is expected to continue. Common man is also hit by reduction in interest rates as small saving interest rates are progressively brought down, the 10 basis points cut came on 1st July. The rate cut was further eased to 25 basis points which appears to help no body except the govt as her borrowing cost will come down after the rate cut. For the common man 10 year investment bond will yield less than 6.5% after the cut and a vast multitude who keep their money in banks wou...
