PM Sheikh Hasina is set to win a fifth term – fourth straight – in general elections, boycotted by the main opposition party. Access to the website of The Daily Manab Zamin newspaper has been blocked across Bangladesh, one of the leading news outlets in the country. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called the main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), which is boycotting the election, a “terrorist” organisation. Mahua Moitra's Expulsion

It is so ludicrous that TMC MP Mahua Moitra has been expelled from the Parliament by those who used words like '50 crore girlfriend' and 'Congress's widow' from the same camp now hoisting the flag of ethics and dignity. No action has been initiated against BJP MP Nishikant Dubey's 'nagar vadhu' tweet attacking Mahua Moitra and Dipika Singh, Ramesh Bidhuri's communal slurred abuses at BSP MP Kunwar Danish Ali during a discussion on Chandrayaan-3 though much before Ms Moitra controversy over cash-for-query scandal. Bidhuri's gutter brand abuses have still not been taken so seriously by the parliament when the entire house along with the speaker Om Birla witnessed his street brand despicable action. Taking up of Ms Moitra's case by parliament's Ethics Committee that recommended her expulsion for alleged violation of secrecy and tabled it's about 500 page report to be discussed after 2 hours in the lower house of parliament in such an in

An Enforced Silence On The Part Of PM Modi Cannot Solve Manipur Crisis

Modi’s Silence on Manipur has Destroyed the State’s Credibility If Modi hopes that he can wish away the Manipur crisis by staying silent, he is mistaken. By now, ethnic divides have become deeply entrenched and the security-centric approach of creating buffer zones between the Meitei and the Kuki is making the gulf permanent. Crying for a political solution, the people now feel completely abandoned by Modi, who exhorted them to vote for a ‘double-engine’ government in the state two years ago. His indifference towards Manipur, while he goes campaigning for elections in Karnataka, to the train accident site in Odisha or chairs a disaster management conference for cyclone Biprajoy in Gujarat, only reinforces the sentiment. The state has simply collapsed. More than 4,500 weapons have been ransacked – rather handed over to local militia and mobs – from state armouries. In Manipur, the violence is not between militants and security forces; it is between two communities, involving ordinary

Condemning A Community in India Stoking Bigotry

Condemning A Community in India Sto king Bigotry Why should we condemn a community and project her as threat material to our country too? I have yet to come across Muslims in india posting hate messages, trolling, abusing, lynching, torturing Hindus to rant Allahu Akbar, participating in terrorist activities abroad inspite of they being put to immense shame and insult every moment. We the majority Hindu take full liberty to curse them with wild allegations couched with lies, unsubstantiated facts, defamation, slander, libel  against them and Islam. Take it from me that fanaticism has become a political tool for those who have tasted the easy passage to the most lucrative business of politics. A whole host of Hindus and their leaders are spitting venom for  raising a fanatic bastion for direct confrontation with the minorities. The majority community with majority support in the parliament is unwilling to deal with the malady of social rift constitutionally. Incessant unobtrusive anti I

PM Modi, Please Check Before You Speak

Enough is Enough. Modi Should be Discreet in Commenting on Opposition… Why did Modi launch a scathing attack on the opposition by keeping all the corrupt leaders with himself? सारे भ्रटाचारी नेताओं को साथ रखकर विपक्ष पर हमला क्यों बोल रहे मोदी? Why is Modi so upset over the Opposition meeting saying all hardcore corrupts are meeting in Bengaluru? Why he slammed the Bengaluru gathering of the united opposition front, now named INDIA, to promote corruption? PM Modi has always been quoting Kejriwal or Mamta for freebies whereas he himself and his own party does this for vote. Actually there is no ideology in today's politics whether it is BJP, Congress, AAP, TMC or any other. The PM who claims to fight against so called corruption wastes no time joining hands with corrupt leaders and most recently like Ajit Pawar, Chhagan Bhujbal, Praful Patel and all NCP MLAs who crossed the floor were raided, chased with serious corruption charges by ED, CBI and IT now stand clean after joining NDA.

Exploiting The Poor & Unemployed

Exploiting The Poor & Unemployed The bhagats have no mind to understand as to why I question the government. Why should a citizen in a democracy not speak and point out the unacceptable acts of the government? Why should the government not be given a loose rope to sit complacent? An insensitive citizen in a democracy is a dead citizen. It is expected as to what a conscious citizen like me is doing should promptly be done by the media. But we have a scared media. A scared media produces dead citizens and heartless bhagats. The bhagats ask me if not this government then who. So they mean that the government should not be questioned. Mass dissent is itself a solution to force the government to respond to the voice of national debate. On the contrary the police, agencies and a huge crowd of unemployed wastrels are let loose on those who still have the courage to speak. That is why more than 80 crore uneducated or little educated are kept deliberately poor and unemployed to use them as
