  Bangladesh Election 2024 Bangladesh, a nation of 170 million people, went to the polls to elect a new government in the country’s 12th general election on 7th January 2024: Polls close in vote boycotted by opposition…. PM Sheikh Hasina is set to win a fifth term – fourth straight – in general elections, boycotted by the main opposition party. Voting started at 8am (07:30 IST) and officially closed at 4pm (3:30 IST). Access to the website of The Daily Manab Zamin newspaper has been blocked across Bangladesh, one of the leading news outlets in the country. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called the main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), which is boycotting the election, a “terrorist” organisation. The voter turnout was very low as per the Bangladesh election commission. 27.15% of voters had cast their ballot upto 3pm ie 2.30 pm IST. It is so ludicrous that TMC MP Mahua Moitra has been expelled from the Parliament by those who used words like '50 crore girlfriend' and 'Congress's widow' from the same camp now hoisting the flag of ethics and dignity. No action has been initiated against BJP MP Nishikant Dubey's 'nagar vadhu' tweet attacking Mahua Moitra and Dipika Singh, Ramesh Bidhuri's communal slurred abuses at BSP MP Kunwar Danish Ali during a discussion on Chandrayaan-3 though much before Ms Moitra controversy over cash-for-query scandal. Enough is Enough. Modi Should be Discreet in Commenting on Opposition… Why did Modi launch a scathing attack on the opposition by keeping all the corrupt leaders with himself? सारे भ्रटाचारी नेताओं को साथ रखकर विपक्ष पर हमला क्यों बोल रहे मोदी? Why is Modi so upset over the Opposition meeting saying all hardcore corrupts are meeting in Bengaluru? Why he slammed the Bengaluru gathering of the united opposition front, now named INDIA, to promote corruption? PM Modi has always been quoting Kejriwal or Mamta for freebies whereas he himself and his own party does this for vote. Actually there is no ideology in today's politics whether it is BJP, Congress, AAP, TMC or any other. Exploiting The Poor & Unemployed The bhagats have no mind to understand as to why I question the government. Why should a citizen in a democracy not speak and point out the unacceptable acts of the government? Why should the government not be given a loose rope to sit complacent? An insensitive citizen in a democracy is a dead citizen. It is expected as to what a conscious citizen like me is doing should promptly be done by the media. But we have a scared media. A scared media produces dead citizens and heartless bhagats. The bhagats ask me if not this government then who. So they mean that the government should not be questioned.
