DAY 4 Review: German Defeat 1-2 from Japan

 DAY 4

German defeat 1-2 from Japan brings Japanese, Saudi and Brazilian fans together in World Cup

Language certainly was no barrier as these football fans celebrated two historic victories for Asian teams over two football powerhouses.

As the Japanese fans came out of the Khalifa International Stadium in a jubilant mood on Wednesday evening following their team’s stunning win over Germany in the Qatar World Cup, one couple were battling completely different emotions.

Now about the match. That is nothing more than Japan deserves! They were the equals of Germany in the first half, and – sensationally – their betters in the second! Takuma Asano caps Japan’s second-half fightback to leave Germany stunned. Japan’s first victory against Germany sent a seismic jolt through the World Cup and was reward for the courage. On Wednesday it was Takuma Asano of the Bundesliga’s Bochum who sent the vocal Japanese fans at Khalifa International Stadium into ecstasy along with his teammates and the rest of the squad who flooded on to the pitch to celebrate his 83rd‑minute winner. A dramatic winning goal of the winger Takuma Asano's, the superb substitute's almost 'zero angle' goal at the 83rd min displayed an execution of a sublime piece of controlled action on a running ball!!!!๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ’๐Ÿพ

In Spain Vs Costa Rica match Ferran Torres scored twice, 18-year-old Gavi, the youngest in Spanish team made history – and so did Spain, who scored 7 as against nil by Costa Rica for the first time in a World Cup match. Otherwise also the match was between the young brigade of Spain and the collection of old ones with Costa Rica.

Morocco Vs Croatia match ended in a goalless draw. World Cup 2018 runners-up Croatia made a frustrating start to their Group F campaign as a resolute Morocco secured a 0-0 draw in Al Bayt Stadium.

In the fourth match between Belgium and Canada, Thibaut Courtois spares Belgium's blushes in narrow 1-0 win over Canada, while Youri Tielemans and Axel Witsel both had poor nights in midfield. Belgium picked up a 1-0 win over Canada in their opening World Cup fixture. Michy Batshuayi netted what proved the winning goal on the stroke of half time.

But his opener came at the end of a half dominated by Canada out in Qatar. Stephen Eustaquio and Richie Laryea were particularly impressive for them.

Alphonso Davies fluffed the chance to fire them ahead from the penalty spot. Thibaut Courtois had to rescue Belgium with a few important saves in goal.

That was all in four games on day 4 of FIFA WC 2022 worth commenting on.
