FIFA 22 Group Analysis

The 2022 FIFA World Cup continued Wednesday with Group C at the forefront. Argentina stayed alive as it won 2-0 over Poland (1-1-0) at Stadium 974 in Ras Abu Aboud, Qatar. Despite the loss, Poland will also advance because Mexico didn't beat Saudi Arabia by enough goals.  Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny stood on his head in the first half, saving nine shots. However, Argentina broke through in the opening minutes of the second half with Alexis Mac Allister scoring and Julián Álvarez adding another later.  Argentina bounced back to win Group C with its win against Poland. The team will face Australia (runners-up in Group D) in the Round of 16. Poland finished second in Group C by winning the goal-differential tiebreaker over Mexico and advanced to the Round of 16 for the first time since 1986. The team will face France (Group D winners) in the Round of 16. G roup-by-group scenarios for each team in the tournament GROUP C Mexico, despite its win against Saudi Arabia, finished th

Day 10 -- Gakpo, Rushford Stars of the Day

DAY 10 Tuesday  Watching two games at a time on two screens and channels – MTV and Jio Cinema, is going to be a tiring experience. Kalidou Koulibaly strike sends Senegal into last 16 with win over Ecuador Winger Ismaila Sarr kept his cool to score a first half penalty and captain Kalidou Koulibaly netted a second goal as Senegal beat Ecuador 2-1 at the Khalifa International Stadium on Tuesday to earn a place in the last 16 of the World Cup. Sarr scored his penalty in the 44th minute having earned the spot-kick himself, but Ecuador, who needed only a draw to reach the knockout rounds, equalized through Moises Caicedo. That joy for the South Americans lasted only three minutes though as Koulibaly restored Senegal's lead, which they were able to hold onto for the remainder for the match. The African champions finished second in Group A with six points from their three matches, one behind winners Netherlands and two ahead of Ecuador, whose tournament held much promise but ended in bit

FIFA Day 9 -- Portugal and Brazil Join France in the Round of 16

DAY 9 Monday Portugal and Brazil Join France in the Round of 16 Ghana beat South Korea, and Cameroon and Serbia tied to keep its World Cup hopes alive. Here’s what to know: Bruno Fernandes aims for Ronaldo’s head but finds the goal instead. Brazil believed the goal was coming. The scorer was the surprise. Ghana defeats South Korea in a back-and-forth thriller. U.S. team distances itself from federation’s decision to alter Iran flag. A day before a critical World Cup match with abounding political and competitive ramifications, players and coaches on the U.S. national team on Monday distanced themselves from social media posts made by their soccer federation that showed support for the women of Iran by doctoring that country’s flag. Gregg Berhalter, the American soccer coach of the US team, said Monday that neither he nor any players were involved with the decision to remove Iran’s official emblem and two lines of Islamic script in posts on Twitter and Instagram. Now coming on

Day 8 -- Germany Spain Nail Biting Draw

DAY 8 Sunday C osta Rica, Morocco and Croatia all won on the field. Germany Vs Spain ended in a 1-1 draw.  Off it, U.S. Soccer drew Iran’s anger over posts on social media.  Iran calls for the U.S. to be expelled from the World Cup. Riots break out in Brussels after Belgium’s surprising loss to Morocco. Canada scored its first World Cup goal, but Croatia responded with four. Morocco’s unlikely strike stuns a sluggish Belgium. Costa Rica’s first shot on goal is a good one. And costly for Japan. Costa Rica made the most of its first shot on goal in this World Cup, scoring on it to beat Japan, 1-0. The victory revives its slim chances of advancing to the next round, puts Japan in the very difficult spot of needing to beat Spain to continue and offers Germany a lifeline. Japan had controlled the game until the 81st minute, when it gave the ball away to Keysher Fuller, who fired a shot past the fingers of Shuichi Gonda and into the upper right corner of the net. The result stunned Japan a

Day 7 -- Messi Equals Maradona

DAY 7 Saturday Messi Equals Maradona, A Day After His Death Anniversary Australia Vs Tunisia.  Mitchell Duke's goal takes Australia to 1-0 win over Tunisia. Mitchell Duke scored the lone goal of the match between Australia and Tunisia in the 23rd minute. They played superbly all over the pitch and defended brilliantly throughout to earn a first World Cup win since 2010. Win is Australia’s first World Cup victory in 12 years at a Group D match at Al Janoub Stadium, Al-Wakrah for their first win of the tournament. The side, which had suffered a 4-1 loss to France in its opening game, gave a neck-and-neck fight to Tunisia before Mitchell Duke scored the only goal of the game to put Australia in the driver's seat. Tunisia just weren't good enough on Saturday and didn't get anywhere near the levels they found against Denmark in their first game. They had a few decent opportunities but can't have any complaints with this result and now know they've got to go and beat

FIFA DAY 6 Review

DAY 6 Friday All FIFA Participating Teams are Full of Commitment, Desire, Hunger and Communication with Fitness -- Capable to Upset The day began in the land of FIFA 2022 Qatar where Iran offered a powerful show of defiance on a day of jeers, tears and joy. The fans made their feelings known before the players did the country proud with a 2-0 World Cup victory over Wales. Yes, Iran scored twice in added time to shatter Wales, whose keeper Wayne Hennessey was sent off for a violent foul on Mehdi Taremi.  Wales aren’t out, but they need snookers now. Iran will almost certainly go through if they beat the USA and may well do so with a draw. In the next match Senegal kept their World Cup dream alive before Qatar’s hopes ended. Qatar became the first team to be knocked out of the World Cup after a humbling defeat at the hands of Senegal. But the host team’s fans inside a half-full Al-Thumama stadium had at least some consolation: they got to see a goal. Qatar lost to Senegal 1-3. The hosts

DAY 5 Fifa World Cup 2022: Favourites Brazil Kick Off

DAY 5 Fifa World Cup 2022: Favourites Brazil kick off tournament bid as Portugal enter fray In the match Portugal Vs Ghana, Cristiano Ronaldo-led Portugal survived a scare against Ghana; the West African team gave their fans something to cheer when Andre Ayew equalized, and Osman Bukari's 89th-minute header set up an anxious ending. Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo shrugged off his bitter split with Manchester United to claim yet another record as he became the first player to score in five World Cups with a penalty to help steer his side to a nervy 3-2 win over Ghana on Thursday. Ghana did nothing in the first half apart from defend deeply but gave their noisy bank of fans in the 974 Stadium something to cheer when Andre Ayew equalized in the 73rd minute. Joao Felix restored Portugal's lead five minutes later, however, and Bruno Fernandes then showed his class with a jinking run before sliding a pass to Rafael Leao to leave Ghana stunned. Osman Bukari's 89th-minute hea

DAY 4 Review: German Defeat 1-2 from Japan

DAY 4 German defeat 1-2 from Japan brings Japanese, Saudi and Brazilian fans together in World Cup Language certainly was no barrier as these football fans celebrated two historic victories for Asian teams over two football powerhouses. As the Japanese fans came out of the Khalifa International Stadium in a jubilant mood on Wednesday evening following their team’s stunning win over Germany in the Qatar World Cup, one couple were battling completely different emotions. Now about the match. That is nothing more than Japan deserves! They were the equals of Germany in the first half, and – sensationally – their betters in the second! Takuma Asano caps Japan’s second-half fightback to leave Germany stunned. Japan’s first victory against Germany sent a seismic jolt through the World Cup and was reward for the courage. On Wednesday it was Takuma Asano of the Bundesliga’s Bochum who sent the vocal Japanese fans at Khalifa International Stadium into ecstasy along with his teammates and the re

There was more time. When you are Lionel Messi, there is always more time. As Saudi and Argentinian fans converged on the giant golden boat of the Lusail Stadium under cloudless midday skies, the atmosphere was almost festive. National holiday has been declared today in Saudi Arabia. The 2022 Qatar World Cup could hardly have started any better for Australia, claiming a stunning lead over reigning champions France less than ten minutes into their opening clash. Adelaide United captain Craig Goodwin smashed the ball into the net in the ninth minute from the back post after a sweeping, sensa

FIFA 2022 - England Outclassed Iran

On Three Monday FIFA Football '22 Fixtures At Qatar England outclassed Iran with a score of 6-2 in Monday's Group B opener in Doha. Saka and Bellingham sparkle as England crush Iran.  Yet this game will surely be remembered for something else entirely. Fans and Iranian players protested by not singing the national anthem. Protests have been taking place across Iran since mid September after the death in custody of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year old woman from Iran's Kurdistan province.  FIFA WC 2022 will also be remembered for fans brand FA 'SPINELESS' for capitulating to Qatar and FIFA over 'OneLove' LGBT rainbow armband after England captain Harry Kane was threatened with being booked. England and eight other teams planned to wear the armband as equality gesture. But players faced being booked and even banned under strict FIFA dress rules. Homosexuality is still illegal in Qatar and the armband would highlight this. Coming back to the game, there were no surprises

FIFA Opens, Host Qatar Lost to Ecuador

Hosts Qatar off to losing start after Enner Valencia double for Ecuador The long wait is finally over. The first of the 64 matches have ended on Sunday with Ecuador triumphing 2-0 over host, Qatar. Both the goals were scored by the Ecuador forward Enner Valencia's penalty kick and header (in 16th min and 32nd min respectively) helped Ecuador see off Qatar in the FIFA World Cup 2022's opening-day match. In the first half, Ecuador threatened to score even more goals, but in the second half they seemed content to sit back a little, which allowed Qatar the necessary latitude to get themselves back into the contest.    For Qatar, this was a letdown 12 years in the making. The host nation has spent that time building the infrastructure of a World Cup shrouded in controversy and replete with a bitter taste that, whatever the next four weeks bring, is unlikely ever to be washed away. No other outcome seemed likely after the moment, three minutes in, when Enner Valencia thought he had s

Unfortunate Judgement by SC on EWS Reservation

Unfortunate Judgement by SC on EWS Reservation The Supreme Court has upheld the 103rd Constitution Amendment providing for a 10% quota for admissions in educational institutions and government jobs for the economically weaker sections (EWS) from unreserved categories. A five-judge constitution bench of Chief Justice UU Lalit and Justices Dinesh Maheshwari, S Ravindra Bhat, Bela M Trivedi and JB Pardiwala, in a 3-2 split verdict, held that the provisions of the concerned amendment is not in violation of the Constitution. While Justices Dinesh Maheshwari, Bela Trivedi and JB Pardiwala upheld the 103rd Constitution Amendment, CJI UU Lalit and Justice S Ravindra Bhat wrote a dissenting judgment to strike it down. The Supreme Court verdict has been a disappointing one. The judgement has sown the seed of trouble between the EWS i.e., those who are earning Rs 8 lac a year and the BPL i.e., those who are earning between Rs 77000 to Rs 1.4 lac a year. The EWS has been favoured over the BPL. Whi

Morbi Tragedy

Morbi Tragedy: Do You Still Want To Remain A Bhakt And Sunk In Slavery??? What more will be needed to awaken the conscience of the 'godi' media and heartless bhagats when even horrible pictures of dead and news confirming 55 children among 135 killed in Morbi bridge collapse could not move these stone hearted. Morbi Civil hospital being painted and refurbished ahead of the PM visit three days after the tragedy!! Do we really need this VVVVVIP ‘chamak’ at a time like this? Imagine the level of noise and all patients are going through who are recovering from tragedy just to appease our PM. Ideally he should see the real face of the hospital and make the minister and officers accountable but here a photoshoot studio is being made – even the roads done up, white cloth partitions erected on either side of the road to welcome the "Maharaja" of negligent government. Such insensitivity was never seen. When you can have band performance, train inauguration, air shows, multiple
