Are Our Agitating Farmers Khalistanis???

Are Our Agitating Farmers Khalistanis, Separatists, Terrorist, Anti National, Gaddar??? The BJP leaders are so deep drunk in power that they were not at all ashamed of calling agitating farmers from Punjab and Haryana entering Delhi as Khalistanis and also trolled in social media that they may create another Shaheen Bag type situation in Delhi. What nonsense!!! Farmers and Khalistanis? Terrorists? Anti nationals??? Shaheen Bag type of protest is still acceptable. And the government wants it that the agitating farmers gather at Burari, in the remote outskirts of Delhi to sit endlessly on dharna there, get tired of non response of the government and thereby the agitation may fizzle away to natural death.  Sensible people still exist in India. Like the farmers even they are also asking why the recommendations of Swaminathan Committee report have not been implemented so far to benefit the farmers. Imagine when we have kept ourselves in lockdown due to COVID-19, the farmers were still on th

MUST INDIA STAY OUT OF RCEP???

The article in The Hindu “Threat or treat: on Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) trade deal” published on 17/11/2020 and my blog of 1st March, 2019 are requested to refer for better understanding of the present blog. Countries entered into many trade negotiations for improved market access in ever expanding international trade and thereby many trade agreements are signed like FTAs or GATT, WTO or the EU etc.  Similarly RCEP trade deal was conceptualized in 2011 and formally floated in 2012, was envisaged to bolster economic associations among the now 15 member countries in Asia and to promote trade and investment linked activities as greater flows of trade between member states and their increased influence on non-member countries came in the way to reap the benefits to the maximum by member countries in Asia. The 2020 RCEP summit was hosted by Vietnam on 15th November. India had been a part of negotiations for almost nine years till it pulled out in November 2019 for r

REVOLUTION IN DEMOCRACY

Many of my friends at this ebbing phase of life are a bit disturbed at the existing state of affairs and also due to unhealthy developments of massive false propaganda wherein balanced minds are feeling alienated. I have had long discussions with them and pleaded not to resign from the situation we are facing as we have had enough -- more so because now at this age rather pursuit for satisfaction is more important than vexing our mind with uninvited gloom.  We all are well educated. Education has taught us to live by our intellect and reason with our thoughts. We are in a democracy. We have the privilege to question. Voice of dissent is a constant force necessary for democracy. It brings revolution in democracy. It must keep flowing in democracy like a free flowing river. The river of our thoughts will divert to extremism if the flow of revolution stops and we will end up in a useless gutter of stagnation where nothing can bloom neither flowers nor ideas. The people like babas, katha v

TRUMP AND BIDEN COMPARED

As Joseph R. Biden is now projected to win 279 electoral votes till last vote count on Saturday the 7th Nov and subsequently lead the country for the next four years as the next president of the US, it's better to analyse how the difference between the two candidates -- Biden and Donald Trump impact the world and India. Kamala Harris, a senator from California made history as she was elected vice president of the United States. Her victory represents a handful of firsts: she will be the first woman, the first Black woman, the first Indian-American woman and the first daughter of immigrants to be sworn in as vice president. Joe Biden and Donald Trump inspite of their age, both ran spirited campaigns to barnstorm the country. Both are a way past 70. Biden is currently leading in states of Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia, Michigan, and Arizona, as counting continues in these states. Trump has not yet given in. Nevertheless his victory is most likely to send a bad signal to the world.

MUSLIMS IN WEST BENGAL

There are many of my friends who shared with me in private the post on The Muslim Takeover Of West Bengal by Janet Levy who concluded that the Muslims may overtake West Bengal Hindu population as the way Muslims are increasing in numbers.  "While the situation for Hindus in Bangladesh is certainly dire, life has become increasingly difficult for Hindus in West Bengal, home to a Muslim-appeasing government and a breeding ground and safe haven for terrorists". – Janet Levy My answer to Jenet Levy follows… 👇👇 India is a multi-religious and multi-cultural country. Religion plays a central and definitive role in the life of many of its people. Although India is a secular Hindu-majority country with 79.8% Hindus, it has a large Muslim population of 14.23%.  India has a big population. It is true that unrestricted growth of the population affects the equitable and just distribution of national resources in a developing economy like India. For many Hindus the population growth amo

Trump or Biden - US Election 2020

Joe Biden and Donald Trump go head-to-head for the White House on November 3 The world’s most-watched election is today, November 3, with Joe Biden in the lead but pollsters still unsure if he will make it to the White House. The prospects of a Donald Trump victory are bleak but not many are ruling out a repeat of the kind we saw four years ago, when Hillary Clinton, the then favourite according to most pollsters, lost the Electoral College though she got nearly three million more popular votes than Trump. Over 70% of Indian-Americans support Biden. With Kamala Harris, the Indian-origin Democratic party vice-presidential nominee, US Americans are now opening up more to the idea of India Reports have it that in Pennsylvania, a key battleground state, Biden had a teeny five-point lead. In Pennsylvania a small set of people may decide who becomes president.  President Donald Trump will enter election day with much worse odds than he had in 2016. Over the past six months the initial econom
