VIOLENCE IN SUPPORT OF A RAPIST
There has been a complete failure of Govt of Haryana, Punjab and thereby the state and central administrative machinery to handle the pent up situation. This is bound to happen when a criminal like Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh of Dera Sacha Sauda is patronised by political parties - BJP and Congress both to get the support of the vote bank of devotees in the elections of Haryana and Punjab. The leaders of BJP and Congress are seen giving regular attendance to Dera. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was given Z category security. Why? Who is he?
Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma made no secret of his proximity to Dera head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. Recently Sharma visited him at the Dera headquarters in Sirsa and handed over a cheque of Rs 51 lakh as a mark of his support.
Last Thursday he said that Dera Sacha Sauda followers were “simple, peace loving people” who may have gathered in Panchkula in huge numbers “ out of devotion for their guru and he did not smell violence at all. Hence the army, paramilitary forces and strong contingent of police force deployed had no instructions to fire and deal strongly with the crowd engaged in violence as per their professional knowledge to handle such situation wherein the size of violent crowd out numbered the force deployed. Why such a huge crowd was allowed to collect as a huge gathering? Why Section 144 was not strictly imposed in advance when they had all the intelligence inputs that the goons of Sacha Sauda may smuggle in petrol, sticks, iron rods and may be explosives etc for damaging public and private properties? Why the state administration took so much time to impose curfew after so many deaths and damages? Like the Jat reservation violence on Feb 2016 the Khattar govt has failed again to deal with the situation wherein 29 killed and around 250 injured. The funny part is this that at dead end of the day Modi and Amit Shah are deliberating as to how Haryana CM should be shown the door after so much damage already done by the arsonists. They are more concerned for the damage control of the party than the state boiling with violence. The Home Ministry with BJP Govt at the center completely failed to anticipate and suggest action against the building up of volcanic situation in Haryana.
Now will Ram Bilas Sharma and scores of Haryana BJP leaders giving their regular attendance at the Dera also be sacked by the party High Command? Will the govt recover the losses due to violence from Dera and the leaders of Haryana and Punjab govt? Mr Modi like Mr Bajpai and a host of BJP leaders are in record for often seen/ attending the congregation of Asaram Bapu and eulogizing Asaram and showering all praise for "Bapu". Can we expect justice when the top leadership itself is compromising with the criminals?
