MODI'S PROMISES vs REALITY

Blind followers of politicians are mesmerized to accept what is served to them as bundle of lies, false promises, distractions and wholesale politicking - all are craftily packaged tactics to achieve political gains for attracting votes before an election. Later same tactics are used to justify their inaction, failure, misdeeds and more often than not also through blame game hold the previous govt transferring the legacy of all ills now they are in after assuming power. As a result great majority of people get lost into the maze of confusion created through blame game that they fail to see whether the govt is really delivering or has delivered what she had promised. People are brainwashed to go blind to reason so as not to question their own self whether they chose the party which keeps blaming the previous govt to justify their failure and inaction when it comes to deliver for which people voted them to power. People know very well what the previous govts did. That is why people voted for BJP or AAP or TMC or JDU hoping for better viable option but when it came to deliverance their failures have not yet been seen by the blind followers. The govt need not have to cry on the past when it comes to deliver. The opiated vast multitude will not see through the tricks of the govt in power in centre still campaigning for holding fast to their chair.
People voted for Modi's superfluous poll promises.
1. BJP-led government has failed miserably in keeping the promise to create one crore jobs an year. Job creation remains the single biggest failure of Modi govt. So far less than only 3 lac jobs are created in 3 years of Modi govt. The govt in fact has no vision and realistic plan for job creation and prepare the economy of the country to meet requirement.
2. There is a cut on education expenditure inspite of Modi trumpeting about flagship schemes such as Skill India. Total 3.71% of its total expenditure  on education will be spent in 2017-18 as compared to 4.57℅ during 2013-14.
3. Textile industry hits at low as the government had set itself a target of $45 billion for 2016-17, it could just manage to earn $38.6 billion.
The demonetisation exercise is believed to have broken the back of India's textile industry, which has been struggling with falling exports, low productivity and rising prices.
4. One of the most publicised promises made by Modi during the Lok Sabha elections’ campaign was that the NDA government would credit ₹15 lakh in every citizen’s bank account in 100 days, after it had brought back the black money stashed overseas. People are still waiting for the impossible gift.
5. Going into the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, the BJP had promised to bring back Indian black money stashed abroad. France provided the list of 700 Indian citizens who allegedly hold HSBC accounts in Geneva. Finance minister Arun Jaitley informed the Supreme Court that the government was constrained to disclose the names because the Congress party government had signed a double taxation avoidance agreements (DTAAs) with Germany on 19 June 1995 making it difficult for names of foreign account holders to be made public till the time investigations are complete and a chargesheet is filed in a court. Who the hell he is fooling? The BJP already knew all this yet it made time bound promises during election, which turned out to be superfluous.
6. Why no Lokpal yet appointed at the Central level and Lokayukta at State level? “Setting up an effective Lokpal” was one of the promises made by the BJP. Three years after, the Modi government is yet to enforce the law, that was passed in December 2013. The reason for the delay or avoidance is obvious.
i) Several issues related to the NDA Government will also come in to limelight which might be difficult for the ruling party to handle if an honest officer was appointed as the head of Lokpal. What will the NDA government do? Choose a strong head for Lokpal as per the aspirations of the people or choose an official who can serve the purpose of the ruling Government. Logically like any govt in power Modi led NDA Govt too may choose the second option to avoid trouble at present.
ii) BJP has to answer on certain issues like the reason for not disclosing the list of people who have the highest black money abroad, the need to keep the money received as party funds not mandatory in income declaration and many other policy decisions will come under scrutiny.
The govt argued that Congress being in the selection committee as leader of opposition party (LOP) at 44 members to select the lokpal does not qualify as LOP and hence the government has no selection committee.
The Supreme Court pulled up the government for dragging its feet on the matter, saying that there was “no justification” for not to implement the act, after Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi argued, on behalf of Centre, that amendments regarding the LOP were still pending before the law.
The fact that a one line amendment recognising the single largest party in place of the LOP in the Lok Sabha can be passed in five minutes has escaped those who glibly trot out such specious and flimsy excuses. Modi as CM of Gujarat did not have Lokayukta between 2003-13. The post fell vacant in 2003 when Justice SM Soni demitted office. No one was appointed ever since and obstinately blocked for a decade  I know that people like us will be condemned to repeat and recall the lessons of history as people’s memory is very short.
7. BJP-RSS terror in the name of hindutva is conspicuous.  Outfits like the Bharatiya Gau Raksha Dal (BGRD) and its regional units as well as organizations like the Bajrang Dal, the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Hindu Yuva Vahini (founded by Yogi Adityanath) etc are part of the Sangh Parivar, a family of Hindu right-wing organizations of which the BJP is a part. The BJP manifesto promised to ensure a peaceful and secure environment, where there is no place for either the perpetrators or exploiters of fear. However, it has been anything but that -- from love jihad to gau goons to lynching to anti-Romeo squads—the list goes on.
Human rights group Amnesty International flagged attacks by cow vigilantes, communal and, caste-based violence against Dalits under the Modi government as a major concern, in its 2016-17 Annual Report.
According to official statistics released in August, more than 45,000 crimes against members of Scheduled Castes and almost 11,000 crimes against Scheduled Tribes were reported.
8. The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) Report 2016 exposes the hollow claims of women security under the present regime.
Total incidents of crime against women in India had increased in 2016, as compared to 2015, by almost 3℅ and 3,38,954 incidences of crimes against women took place in 2016, as compared to 3,29,243.
The NCRB data, also highlights how crime against women had increased in the BJP ruled states.
Three BJP states -- Madhya Pradesh (4,882), Uttar Pradesh (4,816) and Maharashtra (4,189) cases top in the number of rape while two BJP-ruled states -- Uttar Pradesh (12,994) and Maharashtra (6,170) -- top in abduction of women.
Bihar is a distant third, according to the report.
Delhi reported 33℅ (13,803 out of 41,761 cases) of total cases of crimes against women, followed by Mumbai (12.3℅ or 5,128 cases) during 2016. Delhi also reported the highest crime rate (182.1) compared to the national average of 77.2.
9. Corruption in the country is going on as before inspite of the hype created by BJP to give us clean and corruption free system. Best example of NCP chief Sharad Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule and her family’s involvement in Lavasa real estate massive money laundering scam  was officialised by BJP govt, stopped investigation on 70000 cr irrigation scam of Maharashtra, Vyapam scam in MP and many more - one such being  three years ago death of Judge B.H. Loya, who was presiding over the CBI court in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case. Loya’s family, who questioned the circumstances surrounding his death and said that the judge had been offered ₹ 100 crore to give an order favourable to the prime accused, BJP president Amit Shah.
10. Rupee value falls from ₹ 60 to a dollar to 68-69 at one time. It is ₹ 64 to a dollar still today.
11. Fuel prices kept increasing. Not decreased when international prices were all time low. But further increased when international price of crude oil increased.
12. Modi assured in his campaign to bring down inflation in 100 days. Consumer prices in India increased 5.21 percent year-on-year in December of 2017, above 4.88 percent in November and market expectations of 5.1 percent. It is the highest inflation rate since July of 2016 amid faster rise in cost of food and housing.
13. Seeking to woo farmers, Narendra Modi promised in his campaign rally that minimum support price (MSP) will be fixed to ensure 50℅ profit for agriculturalists and a major irrigation programme will be launched if NDA comes to power. Sadly farmers are still struggling for the right to sell their produce at minimum support price and for an automatic annual review to guarantee at least 50% more than the comprehensive production costs as established by the Commission on Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP) for that year. Today modi is silent on increasing protests by farmers across states while apathy and repression marked the approach of the governments in MP and Maharashtra. It is very very disheartening to see an increase of 42℅ in suicide by the farmers during Modi govt. The much-hyped farmers’ loan waiver in Uttar Pradesh has come as a rude shock to many farmers, in different districts, who received waiver certificates of measly sums like Rs 10, Rs 200, Rs 350, and Rs 500.
14. When Modi pledged to bring reliable power to all citizens during the campaign that propelled him into office of PM in 2014, the same year the World Bank pegged India as home to the world’s largest unelectrified population. In 2015 the government set a target for the electrification of 18,452 villages by 2019, out of which electrification of only  13,000 villages completed till date in the last two years ending December 2017. Electrification of all the 18,452 villages by 2019 as announced by the government seems hard to achieve due to slow pace of electrification. Still as of today over 300 million people in India or 60 million households have no access to electricity.
15. As per the world renowned rating agency Credit Analysis and Research (CARE), gross Non Performing Assets (NPAs) of scheduled commercial banks has increased to Rs 8,29,338 crore. Thus, in 42 months of Modi government, it has increased by 5,65,966 crore.
Under Modi government, a total of Rs 1,88,287 crore loans of the industrialists were waived off. Modi has yet to answer as to why has his government waived loans of wilful defaulters worth Rs 1,88,287 crore in the last three years?
This govt is not in any way different than we had the earlier ones. Now the govt is always trying to confuse, divert the people with issue not related to development at all.
The Modi government seems to have bitten off more than it could chew, as it struggles to keep some of its prominent poll promises it had made in the lead up to the 2014 national elections.
