OPINION BASED ON EXIT POLLS

Even if I do not go by or take the average outcome of Exit Polls, I still go by my earlier stand that NDA will form the government in any eventuality to the extent the condition arises to take the help of "Others". I still wish NDA must get a jerk in the larger interest of the nation so as to mend her ways to deliver what it promised in 2014. The 2019 election has been contested by BJP without any promise than mud splashing on opposition, use of Pulwama and army in election campaigns. The deficient in numbers and if it has to form the government with coalition is acceptable to humble the party from being authoritarian to tinker with autonomy of Institutions and degrade the institution of democracy. I hope you read my earlier  post of 11th May "State Wise 2019 Lok Sabha Poll Analysis".

But still believe it or not the exit polls unveils certain hard realities. Modi factor worked as per exit polls because the parties in opposition failed to effectively take up the issues of non performance, false and unfulfilled promises, non inclusiveness and communal agenda of BJP to the voter in a convincing way. As Yogendra Yadav rightly said that the opposition "had no message" nor did they have "messengers".

Congress failed to use the youth power to put life into its campaigns in the States where it registered victory in recent assembly elections. The old hags like  Kamal Nath and Gehlot managing the campaign as head of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan respectively have been rejected by the voters as per exit poll assumptions.

Sheila Dixit's adamancy not to go for coalition with AAP in Delhi and unwilling Congress to join hands with AAP in Haryana worked in favour of BJP if not in Punjab. In Punjab Capt Amrinder Singh is Congress and Congress is Capt Amrinder Singh.

Last but not the least the money power and publicity helped establish a bond of workable communication between Modi and people and vise versa people and Modi that yielded visible results. In every campaign Modi ensured the instant assurance from the voters "Modi theek bol raha ki galat" and the frenzied crowd yell in excitement "Modi, Modi, Modi….!

Hence the concept to establish an equation "PM with people and people with PM" is an unique model conceived by Modi to be followed by the later aspirants getting into politics.

So BJP deserves full marks for strategy to win election. The people's mandate based on its strategy to win gave electoral success to BJP.

Take it from me if the exit polls stand out correct, and I hope it will, then the country should remain prepared for the erosion of autonomy and degradation in quality of institutions which has already started since last few years. The authoritarianism earned through popular endorsement of voters is most likely to encourage the BJP leadership to tinker with constitution for the degradation in the quality of democracy also. The BJP will have every reason to vindicate and establish legitimacy for concentration of authority in one man due to electoral success.
