REVOLUTION IN DEMOCRACY

Many of my friends at this ebbing phase of life are a bit disturbed at the existing state of affairs and also due to unhealthy developments of massive false propaganda wherein balanced minds are feeling alienated. I have had long discussions with them and pleaded not to resign from the situation we are facing as we have had enough -- more so because now at this age rather pursuit for satisfaction is more important than vexing our mind with uninvited gloom.

We all are well educated. Education has taught us to live by our intellect and reason with our thoughts. We are in a democracy. We have the privilege to question.

Voice of dissent is a constant force necessary for democracy. It brings revolution in democracy. It must keep flowing in democracy like a free flowing river. The river of our thoughts will divert to extremism if the flow of revolution stops and we will end up in a useless gutter of stagnation where nothing can bloom neither flowers nor ideas. The people like babas, katha vachaks and crafty political leaders will keep running their money spinning industries in the garb of spreading superstitions, religious fanaticism and political fascism if we do not keep raising our voices. Such people will keep the masses addicted to the drug of religious divide, communal hatred and lies. And people will keep licking the opium of propaganda and damaging themselves. Voting for leaders with an agenda of such mindset will only keep the passage open for them to rule over us with all arrogance by way of having a huge opiated mandate. The power hungry will keep spreading their propaganda and people will scream their lungs out shouting "Vande Mataram…….Bharat Mata Ki Jai…." Only the supreme leader will be obeyed. And those who resist will be lynched.

But there is still a silver lining in our democracy and constitution though bearing and resisting constant hammering by these vested interest. It is our right to question. So to hell with feeling low and resigned. To hell with such so called respectable existence wherein the people who resist are targeted to be harmed -- learn to question first before you become victim of harm.

Revolution is necessary to protect democracy.  Keep questioning. If you don't raise your voice, you will either be construed or end up as a blind follower. Be a participant in a democracy than a blind worshipper otherwise humanity will be screwed. It's your own country, isn't it? It is not a revolution against capitalism. It is also not our academic anguish towards slave to consumerism. It is an outcry of our conscience to question even if we are a miniscule minority in a democracy. Our life has been a journey of experience. Why not experience this too? So keep questioning.....
