Queen of Kalighat, Recaptured the Nation's Heart

Election Commission in West Bengal Assembly election has constantly been in question and the attack has become all the more sharper after vote counting at Nandigram that denied victory of Mamata as TMC contestant.

However this bit of jerk is needed for Mamata for self introspection so as not to repeat those mistakes which fanned the anger of the voters for a near anti incumbency. Voters seem to have forgiven her by the time of polling because of her by and large clean personal image.

Now Mamata has god given golden opportunity to utilize her 3rd term for rectify her shortcomings as follows.....

1. She should keep alert eyes on the corrupt elements in the party and disassociate herself from them. People want to see her capable of dealing with the corrupt elements in the party.

2. There is much anger at the party workers level. Mamata needs to address the genuine grievances of her foot soldiers.

3. Mamata needs to work seriously to re-establish and strengthen the trust among the beneficiaries for welfare schemes actually reaching them than massive loot by the TMC rank and file.

4. Promotion of class and caste divide which never happened in West Bengal, now created by Mamata needs to be discouraged by focusing her welfare schemes for the poor and needy irrespective of caste, class, minority and especially a sanction for a particular communal section .

5. She needs to work hard towards convincing the people by her acts that she is not giving extra rope to appease a particular community. She needs to convince her people that any welfare scheme is directed towards and inspired by her genuine intent for guarding the secular spirit  of the constitution. As constitutional  guarantees of special benefits to the reserved class and minorities not considered appeasement similarly she will have to drive her point that benefits and packages for a particular community are also not part of her appeasement plan. All are citizens of India and citizens are not appeased but treated like any citizen suffering denial deserve special attention. Mamata needs to ensure that the welfare schemes of her government are for the poor and denied irrespective of caste, class and community.

6. Mamata needs to make more conscious efforts at remaining connected to people through her foot soldiers of rank and file.

7. Law and order situation and especially women's safety in Bengal needs much of her attention.

8. Now she should work hard to control violence, promote business and set up industries in the state to generate job opportunities for the job seekers.

Bengal poll results to impact Uttar Pradesh assembly poll and 2024 general election only if she mends her ways. The nation may see a formidable PM candidate again opposing Narendra Modi.
