Gandhi ji's Murder is Justified. What A Shame!!!

Gandhi ji's Murder is Justified Particularly on His Martyr's Day. What a Shame!!!

Never in the history of independent India did anyone ever dare to eulogise Godse, the first terrorist of India who killed Mahatma Gandhi.

Particularly since the landslide electoral victories of the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2014 and 2019, the consequences of severe polarization have grown ever more worrisome.

Mounting majoritarianism and political polarization in India are more toxic today than it has been in decades, and it shows no signs of abating.

It is the support of those in power allowing the trend of hailing Godse that too on this martyr's day. Arrests on charges of sedition are selective and arbitrary for the ruling dispensation. For them deshbhakti is a farce and we who point out are anti Modi, deshdrohi, urban naxal, Pakistani, Khalistani, andolanjivi and what not.  An Uttar Pradesh doctor, Kafeel Khan was jailed because he dared to speak against the Home Minister of India in the context of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) till at last he got relief from court after bail hearings kept getting deferred again and again for merely exercising his constitutional rights of free speech and protest. A local court in Gujarat acquitted a computer professional, Bashir Ahmed Baba, from Kashmir, 11 years after he was arrested under UAPA by the State’s Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) in 2010.

UAPA is being used as political weapon to silence activists and to demonise them as terrorists. A court in India’s metropolis of Mumbai acquitted 33 year old Mohammad Irfan of “terrorism” and other charges after nine years of trial but no action is initiated against those who abuse Gandhi ji and hail Godse as god.

Partisan attacks on India’s independent political institutions have intensified. The educated social activists have become extremely wary of defending pluralism and secularism, and opposing hatred and violence not only against particular communities but also against noble figures as great as Mahatma Gandhi and Ambedkar.
